As the work week comes to a close and we head into a holiday weekend, I find myself reflecting on life, our business, and the journey we’ve embarked on over the past nine years. Despite the current global challenges and the many uncertainties we face, I am continually humbled by the mission that drives us at UnoEth. Every time things get tough, I remember why we started this business and the impact we aim to have. Our ‘why’.
UnoEth began by accident with a handcrafted gift and later was solidified by an “aha” moment that revealed our bigger mission: to create opportunities that didn’t exist before. To connect back with our heritage in Ethiopia and uplift artisans and small businesses that carry on centuries-old traditions and craftsmanship. Together, we partner with artisans all over the globe to create amazing products that tell unique stories, are well-made, and support others.
On one of our first trips to Addis Ababa, I recall the joy on our artisan partner’s face when we first visited his completed workshop, and that moment reaffirmed my passion for helping people, creating new opportunities, and building something meaningful.
We are a family business, a father-daughter duo, and we will always stay true to our roots. It’s incredible to reflect on nine years of growth, and we are immensely grateful for your support. Your belief in us has been instrumental in spreading the word about our brand and helping us grow.
